How are Pulse market segments defined?
Pulse uses a combination of census data, survey data, geotagged social data, financial data, and web traffic data to identify personalities and behaviors that are common within a community. Each market map has an attribution line of text that explains where the underlying data is sourced from.
What is geosocial / geotagged social listening data?
Geosocial data is information people post on social media platforms that has an identifiable location. It is primarily used for understanding characteristics of a specific location instead of opinions of individual people.
What information do you use from my Google Analytics account?
For any Google Analytics View that you authorize, Pulse reads the latitude and longitude coordinates of the traffic coming to your site and the time stamp of when each session begins (e.g., when a visitor views the first piece of content from your website or YouTube channel).
Does Pulse track individual users or household data?
No. Our goal is to understand more about locations through the behaviors of people that spend time there. We do not need personal user information to provide these insights, and we strictly follow all requirements by our data partners regarding personal information.
